State BSU Lead Team member Tori Jones is a sophomore at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, studying elementary education. It is a place of love and encouragement and acceptance no matter your skin color, religion, or circumstances you may be going through, and to me that is truly a blessing. It never ceases to amaze me how good God is when he creates places like the BSU. In this time of uncertainty, it is even more reassuring to have a place like the BSU. If I am being honest, it is my happy place but even greater than that would have to be the honor I have of serving my community as the BSU president this school year at Co-Lin.Ĭollege can be so scary and overwhelming at times, but knowing I have my Father in heaven and another body of believers to help and uplift me at any point in time is beyond encouraging. Through the BSU God also presented me with opportunities to get involved and serve. I knew from flyers around campus that BSU had a kickoff event the first Monday night we started school. When I think about the Baptist Student Union (BSU) at Co-Lin Community College, the word that comes to mind is “family.” I’ve been involved in church my whole life so having the BSU is like having another family in Christ.įrom the moment I graduated high school I was told to get involved on campus at Co-Lin as much as possible without overdoing myself.
